He’s Smiling at Me

This guy has been outside the front door for the last few weeks. I’m pretty sure he’s/she’s an Orb Weaver.. or maybe a Barn Spider.. doesn’t matter, it’s the creepy kind. I do like the ‘face’ his markings create to confuse those that would want to eat him up. This image is just about life-size.

We’re looking for a Flash/Flex UI Designer

Posted by brandonthedeveloper at August 24th, 2007

We’re looking for a Flash/Flex UI designer to help with the interface and layout on current and future AIR projects. Freelance or full time. Who are we? A small, six-person strategic marketing and software development company based in Richmond, Va. Not in Richmond? That’s okay ‚– telecommuting is fine. So long as you’ve got the skills: experience designing RIA UIs in Flash or Flex with a detailed knowledge of AS 3 components and their implementations. And you’ve got to be innovative, fun and a good team member, even if working remotely. Gotta sign an NDA. Interested? Send contact information and links to viewable work examples to: brandonthedeveloper AT gmail DOT com.

John Ballinger has released the newest version of his desktop client Tweetr. Tweetr is a full featured desktop Twitter application written using the AIR runtime. The new version looks great and has new icons that make it simple to use.

Here’s a list of updates for this new release:

  • fixed messages being truncated
  • changed webcam logic if no webcam
  • delete your own messages (new)
  • updated camera button
  • automcomplete for @username and “d” msgs
  • msg’s are refunded if Twitter eats them.
  • turns off webcam after photo.

One of the best new features is the built in file sharing. Drag a file into the download window and once uploaded, you are given a url that links to the file.

Download Tweetr here.

Great job John!
